1945 |
After
the Sino-Japanese War, Minsyong Broadcast Center
was turned over to officials of ROC and renamed
as“Radio Taiwan, Minsyong Radio”. Hence the
shift in the task from speaking in the name of
Japan to performing psychology operations for
ROC. |
1949 |
A
radio museum that witnesses the history: After
the government of ROC was defeated by the
communists in China and retreated to Taiwan in
1949, Minsyong Broadcast Center was taken over
and started broadcasting to China and South-East
Asia in the name of ROC. |
1954 |
With
a view to getting a better result from
broadcasting to China, Minsyong Broadcast Center
set up a microwave transmitting system CW-20,
another radio and modified the original
transmitter. On top of that, it also bought a
piece of land on its right to build a
“Four-Tower-Directional-Antenna System”. On May
20th 1954, the sprawling region of
Middle China was able to receive signals from
“Radio Taiwan, Minsyong Radio”, which in the
same year, changed its name to “Radio Taiwan
International (RTI), Minsyong Radio”. |
1980 |
In 1980, Radio Taiwan International (RTI) became
a unit under Ministry of National Defense and
Minsyong Radio therefore changed its name again
to “RTI, First Transmission Base”. It broadcast
to middle and south China as well as other
foreign countries. |
1998 |
On Jan 1st
1998, RTI was separated from the Ministry of
National Defense and merged into an entity with
the Division of International Affairs of
Broadcasting Corporation of China (BCC). “
RTI, First Transmission Base” changed its name
to “RTI, Minsyong Branch” and adopted the name
ever since. |
